First Presidency Christmas Devotional

Each December the First Presidency helps kick off the Christmas season with a devotional. What a great opportunity to help reinforce for our families the true meaning of Christmas.

The devotional begins at 6 pm.  You can view it on the TV or stream it off mormonchannel.com.  This year I got tickets for our family to attend downtown.  I am excited.

Meet the Mormons

I went and saw "Meet the Mormons" movie and I really liked it.  I thought that it did a great job talking about 6 different families and their lives and challenges.  It also brought out some misconceptions that people have about Mormons and told the truth behind these misconceptions.  It's also very spiritual and very touching.  I also think that kids will like it.  Say nieces that are 9 and 7 really enjoyed.  I would invite everyone to go and see this movie with their families.

General Conference

Each time I listen to conference I think 'what will I take away from this one.' I've got two things that have stuck out to me and I'm going to work at them. What message was for you? What message did you need to hear for the sake of your families? Make the decision today to improve in that area. For our children working on Faith in a God this can pass off one of two goals. 1) read a conference talk and share it or 2) write the attributes of someone you admire and decide one your want to work on.

Pack meeting this month has been moved to Sept 23rd to avoid stake temple day.

The Ogden temple dedication is this Sunday at the Stake Center. Choose 10 am, 1 pm or 4 pm. Arrive well in advance as the outside doors will be locked 30 minutes prior to each dedication. You'll also need your recommend and a white hankercheif.

As a parent I'm always looking for spiritual opportunities for my children. This will be a great chance for the children of the stake 8 yrs and older to increase their faith, knowledge and testimony of temple.
